The Grange Insurance Audubon Center
awakens and connects participants to the beauty of the natural
world in the heart of Columbus and inspires environmental
stewardship in their daily lives.
The
Grange Insurance Audubon Center takes a two phase approach
to programming. Our aim is to implement conservation strategies
through a sequence of experiential education.
Phase One: Observation , exploration,
and inquiry.
School Programs
All programs are based on academic needs identified by participating
schools.
Past programming worked to:
- Nurture and develop skills through hands-on activities
outdoors
- Develop science process skills
- Following protocols, data collection, using science
tools
- Skills: Keeping science journals, making observation,
asking questions

Community Programs
Nature is the context for increasing skills across disciplines
and improving physical health. Examples include:
Hiking
Birding
Nature Art Projects
Gardening
Phase Two: Conservation Action
School Programs
Use inquiry and project-based methods to use conservation
action as a means for reinforcing academic skills.
All programs culminate with conservation
